San Francisco at Night

San Francisco is such a beautiful city to photograph. Although I have been there for almost two weeks now, my busy and hectic schedule has been preventing me from being able to go out and take pictures. On top of that, late April turned out to be a pretty cold time of the year, with plenty of cloudy days, lots of winds and even some rain. Still, whenever there is a chance for me to get out and take some photos, I always give it a try, even if I come back with nothing.

Tomorrow John Bosley and I will be wrapping up some work and I am looking forward to doing more shooting in the city with our Photo Walk group. If you are in the area, come and join us – it will be a lot of fun!

For now, I will leave you with some nighttime images of San Francisco that I have captured during current and last trip. I will be leaving to Denver on Monday and from there, I will be off to Jordan for a month. If there are any readers in Jordan, I am thinking of organizing a photo walk there too, most likely around Amman. If anyone would like to meet up there, please let me know!

Since long I’m your big fan Nasim… Hope to see you soon sometime in NY/NJ… Loved your pics from SF above, specially the first one… such an effective framing for the complex subject there… I also tried a few night shots in my last visit… Would appreciate if you can give some tips to make these better :-)

Nasim: We had a great time yesterday accompanying you on the photo walk. You and John are very generous with your time, knowledge and patience. I can see now why you have such a great following. Please visit SF often and keep in touch with your fans by The Bay.

Love the shot of the Transamerica Building. It looks like you shot from the street. Just curious as to how fast it took you to set up for a 20 second exposure. And what kind of tripod did you use?

Very nice! My favorite is the bridge, but they are all awesome.
