is the Sigma 150-600 better than the Sigma 150-500, would the upgrade be worth it?

Very informative, I wonder if Sigma 60-600 could get a review anytime soon? Admittedly, it costs more than Sigma 150-600 C or even Sport, but it reaches to much wider views and apparently matches the optical quality of the Sport version at the long end. So, maybe one can use one lens instead of two for anything but wide angles on an APS-C camera, increasing flexibility and reducing the need for lens changes. I just wonder if this is the right decision, before the end-of-the-year opportunities kick in…
I saw the answer to my question a few years back. Thanks again.

A helpful review, thank you. Any plans on comparing this with the Nikon 200-500, a popular budget choice?

Nasim, Your outstanding review and sample images are appreciated. You wrote that this lens would be a good choice for a high resolution DX camera. Is it also a good choice for my full frame D810? Thanks.

I agonised between this lens and other similar ones, but finally chose this for my Canon 6D. I can report that I was simply blown away with the results, and its ability to shoot hand held at the maximum focal length. Never thought that possible, but the shots I can get are way beyond my expectations. Considering what it does, the weight is OK provided you don’t want to hold it all day. Not exactly hand luggage friendly for flights, but for everything else it is a fabulous lens. I don’t use it a lot, but then I need that sort of length, it doesn’t fail to impress.

Dear Nasim.
I was wondering if you would recommend this for photographing landing aircraft (on a budget). I live near Heathrow Airport and there is a great spot for planespotters to take amazing photos of the heavies coming in to land. This lens is in my budget range, so I’d like to know if it will do the job, or whether there is an alternative.
Thanks

Icurrently have the Canon 600D with Sygma 50-500 lens. Would it be worth my while to upgrade to this Sygma 150-600 as I am currently shooting birds as my main concers? Regards William, Pretoria, South Africa
