Thanks for this review! I know its a few years old but currently have a D7000 and was thinking of upgrading to a D500 or D750 but have found a used D600 which i think will give me the introduction to FX and i can decide which way to go from there!!

Hi Nasim

I am by no means a professional photographer. I recently purchased a D600 to replace my D90. What I am experiencing is the resulting pictures on the D600 is overexplosed. This is especially true if I have a subject in the foreground. The background seems too overexposed. I searched around the net and there were some discussion around this subject. I am thinking of returning it or having it replaced. I could use some advise from you. Thank you so much. Your website is great and very helpful.

Havent pulled the trigger yet. Ive been researching. I really Need help. i am a previous owner of a D700. I regret selling it. I found someone selling their used but like new D700 with only 3000 shutter actuations. My question is this: for everyday photography, sports, some portraiture, should i side with a brand new D600 or a D700 in great condition? I only have a Nikon 50 f1.8 lens for right now.

Hi Manny – I have both and wondered the same thing. I’d advise you to jump on that D700. It is a pro camera and much more capable than the D600. The 3 things I like about the D600 – light weight, quiet shutter and 100% viewfinder. Otherwise I prefer the D700. I had a commercial shoot the other day and used the D700 with NIMH batts in the grip and just blazed away, so fast and the buffer never filled up, plus the focus points are wider. So I decided to keep the D700, too good to give up!

Too many to list…. I like the 17-35, 80-200, 50 f1.8, 85 f1.8. Hard to go wrong with Nikon glass, all work great for me.

Hi Nasim, I can’t say enough good things about your site, it is so well done and your photos are beautiful!

My question is about the D600 – I seem to have a lot of moire with mine. Recently with fabrics and wood grain. I’ve never had this issue with any of my other Nikons. Have you seen this? Maybe I should send it to Nikon repair via my NPS membership….

Thanks!

Dear Nasim,
First of all: Thank you for the daily inspiration, wise words and stunning images. It is truly amazing what you manage to produce in both words and images. So – thanks and keep up the good work!

I need some good advice from you. I have sold all my gear and will start off with a new approach.

What is the best gear for talking pictures of people, landscapes and my kids? – I therefore need both wideangle, DOF/bokeh and all around (aka 24-70 mm).

You can se my type of imaging here: 500px.com/lassedahl

Most importent for me is the flexibility (less lenses, need to carry around at all times, AF accuracy and BOKEH.. )

The prize for the following is allmost the same in Denmark. Should I buy:

A) Fuji XE-1 + 18-55 & 35 f1.4 (new) (really like this – but I´m afraid of the AF performance)

B) Nikon D700 + 24-70G f2.8 (second hand) (use to own this – really liked it)

C) Nikon D7100 + Tokina 11-16 + Nikon 17-55 f2.8 (new & second hand) (worry about the DOF/Bokeh)

D) Canon 5D mkII + 24-70L f2.8 (second hand) (too old and too slow AF?..)

or E)?

Budget is around $2400 USD

Looking forward to your advice :-)

Have a nice day!

Best regards, Lasse

Hi Nasim

I am amateur Photographer. I owed Nikon D5100 about 1 yrs now. I like really like this camera so far.
However, after I did some research about D600 and read all your reviews. Now I want to buy D600 Refurbished from B&H. I’m little hesitating and scare to buy Refurbished Nikon D600.
I have two questions for you:
1. Should I buy this camera or buy a brand new one?
2. Is this Nikon D600 is perfect for wedding photography?
Please let me know.
Thank you so much for your great review and it is really helpful website.

Malai
