Rubbish ! Section on ISO performance mentions “Mirror Lock-Up mode with Exposure Delay set to “On” “. These are not available on a D3200.

I noticed in ISO comparison, the D3200 was not as well focused as D600…

Assuming the battery itself is not bad, you might want to investigate settings here. Live view uses much more battery. There are also options for saving power and turning the display and other power consumers off after a short period. You can choose a different option also for whether the info screen comes up whenever you press the shutter button or not. Remember too that as long as the camera is on with power on, it is using some battery power even if nothing at all is being done with it. Don’t forget to turn it off. With economical settings, my D3200 goes for a good deal longer than yours seems to, though I have not measured it recently. If you travel at all, I’d strongly advise getting a second battery anyway. If your D3200 is recent, and has recent firmware (check the setup menu and look for 1.03 or later), then it can function correctly with the EN-EL 14A battery, which has longer life than the plain 14. Watch for compatibility with off brands from discounters, but good outfits like B&H sell third party batteries that do work well.

Thanks for the great review I must say, I just want to know about the battery timing of the camera. Resently I bought a new box pack Nikon D3200, but the battery would go dead after few 200+ clicks with and without flash. Would like to know what must be the problem because its really frustrating.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, I know this is an old post, but I’m new to photography and I have a Nikon D3200. I’m wondering if you cand do like a cheatsheet (with the settings you would use in different situations with this camera, like fireworks, cloudy, indoor …). I’m trying not to use the Auto and Scene modes, so that’s why I’m struggling with finding the best settings. Thanks

Hello,
I’m thinking on buying the D3100 or the D3200.
At the moment, the D3200 is only 65€ more expensive than the D3100.
Thanks for the spot on review on the D3200. I decided to buy this camera after reading your review. I may have a slight differing opinion on the 24 megapixel. I found out that if you match the D3200 with a prime lens, it does wonders. I may not have to upgrade my camera body in the distant foreseeable future but instead invest on better lenses than the kit lens it comes with and I can approach the image quality reserved only for the high end models. Even the noise seems to have improved when I attached a better lens. an informed buyer will choose this 24 megapixel anytime over a 16 Mp especially he is buying a new camera, and albeit at almost the same price of the latter.

Hi Nasim, This will be my first DSLR . Till now I have only used high end phone cameras so the switching phases me a lot. I am confused between d3200 and d5200 .and not just that also amongst a kit lens 18-55 and a 18-105 mm .. I want a good overall lens which doesnt kill my budget and also I am not planning to upgrade my camera anytime soon . I may invest in a good lens from time to time depending on where my interest takes me. So for starters what would you suggest . I am fairly good at catching up speed when it comes to learning new technology.

I am keen on buying Nikon 3200 for my first DSLR. My interest lies in portrait shots and landscape/nature/architecture pictures. Is there one lens which would cover all of my needs efficiently? If I have to buy two lens which ones would you recommend?
