Halo with the new Nikon cameras there are automatic correction of colorerrors. Have you tested how much better sharpness can it give after that?
If you have not tested what is your opinion?
Thank you for answears.

Hi, I know this thread is older, but I wanted to thank you for a good website and very helpful reviews. I have this lens on a backup camera and I have been disappointed in the low light focus on this camera. I honestly didn’t know that you could see what appeared to be a decent shot through the viewfinder, with a subject seemingly in focus and then a resulting photograph that can’t be cropped too much due to focus. I have observed good performance in daylight. However, I like to shoot birds out my window and more often than not, lighting is low. At this point I don’t know why I would keep this lens. Even for hiking, do you want to sacrifice picture quality in low light as you are sure to encounter? I’ve had my eye on the 300mm for some time now and I think I should just pull the trigger!
Hi, I want another lens with a longer focal range. Do you think I should simply buy the 55-300mm, or is the 70-300mm worth paying a little bit more.

Hi Nasim Here is my attempt with 70-300mm Nikor lens . The challenge being if I tilt the camera downwards then the focus changes in the manual mode. But results are fantastic. 500px.com/photo…gp-ganesan.

Hi Nasim Appreciate your excellent review of 70-300mm Nikon lens. I have been using this lens for quite sometime and posted my results in www. 500px.com I have been able to shoot at 300mm and got some stunning shots (the Ramayana ballet shot in indonesia) as also the sunset shot in Myanmar. Could I request your comments on these photographs in the light of your review. Best regards

Hi Nasim, excellent review and that’s an interesting read. May I please know whether you’ll be writing a review for Nikon’s AF-P DX Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR lens?

Are their any better Nikon f-mount options [in the price range] for center sharpness @ 300mm then the Nikon 70-300? I’ll use it for still/wildlife photography. Thanks you so much for all your review work !!!

Hi, I have a Nikon D750 that I got with a AF-S 50 mm F/1.4 lens; which is an amazing combination. However I wanted to be able to shoot distant objects (such as airplanes), so I bought a Nikon AF-S 70-300 mm F/4.5-5.6G lens. I had some disappointing results at first but as I learned more about this lens, the pictures got better BUT it’s still relatively heavy and relatively big. I’ve been thinking of switching to Nikon 28-300, but I see it gets even worse marks on your site than the 70-300 mm you review here. You say good things about prime 300 mm F/4 but it weighs 1440 G and is 225 mm long! I guess there is no way to get good quality at 300 mm or 400 mm unless you’re willing to beef up and get ready to carry extremely heavy equipment? Good review, by the way .. very useful. Much better than the others .. Thanks from Canada- www.youtube.com/user/smd5231 (“Heavy Haul TV’)
