How come a 50mm equiv focal length is considered a telephoto lens? I always thought short tele starts around 85mm. Thanks for clarifying

The ultra wide problems seem par for the course for a 1.54mm (!!) ultra wide angle lens. Also, stabilisation as I’m sure you know is less necessary on such lens type
another comment: For just one example, he microcontrast on that Titlis, Switzerland telephoto image is insane. The tonality on the shadows on the snow and even the detail on the little houses and falling light on the background. Unreal! Even the lowest performer, the UWA, shows wonderful tonality at the bottom on that Mesquite Sand Dunes image
lol apologies, I should stop commenting before reading the whole thing, clarification: I meant the Titlis shot on the second page, and the dunes on the fourth page. Needless to say, some amazing compositions throughout the review!

Hello Nasim
If you are in Zurich, you can write me. We can meet and I will show you the old city and the lake. Because I live in this region of Europe.
Last year i was in Rhodos and made pictures only with the iPhone X. This was my first holiday without a Nikon DSRL and I didn’t miss it’s weight! In this way I didn’t have to spent a lot of hours on a computer for post-processing 300 pictures.
Now I have an iPhone 11 Pro. The overall picture quality is really high für this tiny sensors. Unfortunately the ultra-wide lens has some sharpness issues. But I’m sure that Apple will fix them in the iPhone 12 Pro. This is the argument to sell the iPhone 11 Pro and to buy the next model. It’s a shame that Apple is not able to give high quality for all three lenses at such a high price.

“Out of the three, only the wide-angle and the telephoto cameras are image stabilized.”
Is that correct?

In your article there is no evaluation of camera control ergonomics or handling. Did you feel you were in control of the camera? Did the viewfinder preview match your final images? What is your opinion of dynamic range or color?

Thanks for the excellent review. I have been shooting with a new 11pro max for about 6 weeks (upgraded from 6s). As you suggest, the 11pro is revelatory, especially, but not only, in night mode. I read the “stake in the heart” of the high end camera industry conversation with interest. I, like several other readers, highly value the ability to enlarge really good photos either in print or high res display form. Perhaps the greatest satisfaction I get from photography is viewing a lovely image in large format. Even the generous screen of the 11pro max seems to me like only a sneak preview of the real thing. For this reason alone, sounds like I should not mothball my real camera soon. A topic that has not even been raised in this thread is wildlife photography. From telephoto shots of backyard birds to fast shutter speed shots of birds in flight to close-in portraits of large animals, I see no smartphone option on the horizon that is likely up to the task. Am I wrong?
CAN u please review the iPhone 13 pro
