Genaray Escort Daylight LED Interview 3-Light Kit Review

Conclusion

I found the Genaray Escort Daylight LED Interview 3-Light Kit to be a very complete and capable lighting kit. While it doesn’t include everything you’ll need to get started right away (light stands are not included), it’s got you covered for everything else. The included bag keeps everything organized and contained, the accessories power everything and provide mounting options and the inserts and barndoors help diffuse and modify the light output.

Having two flood lights and one spot light in this kit makes it very versatile. You have the capability to have a key and fill light on your subject and a hair light or spot light on the background. Of course, you don’t have to use all three lights at the same time if you don’t want to. They work independently of each other, so if you only have a need for one light, that’s an option as well.

The included wireless remote control makes adjusting the lights extremely convenient and easy. Since each light can be set to a unique channel, making adjustments to each light (instead of a global adjustment to all lights) is possible and very useful. I also found the remote was easier to use for making adjustments to the lights than the actual buttons on the lights. To be honest, if it weren’t for the remote, I don’t think I would like this light kit nearly as much as I do.

While the light output isn’t as strong as you would expect from a flash for photography or larger LED lights for video work, it is more than enough for filming an indoor interview or product photography. In fact, I would highly recommend this light kit for anyone who does a lot of small-product photography. Even if you do macro photography, I’d imagine it would be a useful light kit to have.

At the end of the day, this is not a light kit that I will personally be using for my wedding or portrait photography, but will use it for any video work I do and also when I’m photographing products or even possibly headshots. If you find yourself needing a compact, portable light kit for studio or field work, I would encourage you to take a look at this kit.

Where To Buy

You can purchase the Genaray Escort Daylight LED Interview 3-Light Kit for $525 (as of February 28, 2018) from B&H Photo Video. It is normally $725, but currently has an instant savings of $200.
