Quote: “Due to the fact that Adobe software automatically applies optical corrections to Fuji’s RAW files, it is impossible to properly evaluate lens performance.” So why use Adobe than? For measurement purposes, open source tool where all corrections are under user control, should be more suitable. I.e. the darktable 4.0 software with demosaicing at best settings and no other corrections at all. Or RawTherapy.

Would love to have read all of this review but I couldn’t get past the huge amount of flashing and intrusive adverts. I’d rather have paid to read it than deal with those and the potential fallout of migraines as a result. Please, I appreciate you have to have adverts to cover costs, but make them static. It was such a WELL written review too. Sadly just made it to second page

I am puzzled by the enthusiasm for this expensive, complex lens when the new Nikon Z 24-70, which is cheaper and simpler, has much greater sharpness.

Chance upon this review and it was so well written by Nasim. I had this lens for 18mths and yes … it is damn sharp! I had it 85% on my XT2 and remaining time I am using Samyang 12mm.

Nasim, thank you for the great review. This lens is probably my next buy for a versatile landscape lens. Very impressive and not hard to hold on the XT-2 with the excellent arca swiss compatible Fujifilm MHG-XT2 Metal Hand Grip.
I was in Death Valley in January after reading your excellent guide to DV, which I highly recommend to anyone thinking of going there. Your images are stunning!
Where is that cool rock that looks like an arch that you include in this article?

I’m delighted with it. My 23, 14 and 56 stay home most of the time. With the 50-140 f:2,8 I’m covered.

What is this, a review of a lens with actual great images? You have to go back, reshoot a bunch of walls and cats, then do the review. These make me suspect you may actually take pictures of things on a regular basis lol.
Hi Goncalo. I’m no wedding photographer, but I can say that the XF16-55 paired with an XT-2 (or, in my case, an X-Pro2…same sensor/engine/image quality), would be quite good for a wedding. Perhaps other supplemental lenses such as the 90mm f/2 or the 50-140 would come in handy as well.

LOL David, thanks for the feedback :)
Hi Nasim!
You think this lens paired with a XT2 might be a good substitute for a D700+24-70 2.8? I shoot corporate events and a few weddings.
Thanks
