Fujifilm has been shipping the updated XF10-24mm as a WR OIS. Because of this addition and some other changes to the lens by Fujifilm (its a little lighter than the original) I would love to read your impressions of the refreshed XF 10-24. In light of issuing it as a weather sealed lens now, which addresses one of your major complaints about the original XF10-24, is a reassessment of desirability/value of the XF 8-16 compared to the new XF 10-24 in order?
Thanks, I love your reviews and the always high level of writing by you and your staff of gifted photographer/writers.

What’s the relevance that the lens is built in Japan?
Have there been copies built elsewhere that have had issues that buyers should be aware of?

Great review Nasim, have you noticed any difference in image quality with OIS on/off on tripod?

Is it possible to compare the sharpness chart numbers of full frame lenses to those of Fuji lenses? I’m considering making the change from full frame Nikon to Fuji to take advantage of the smaller weight and size but I don’t have any feel for how lens sharpness compares.
Dave, no, it would not be possible, because it would not be an apples-to-apples comparison. However, here is something you can do. Considering that the MTF data for Fujifilm lenses maxes out at around 3000 (on 24 MP APS-C), while FF maxes out at around 4500 (on 45 MP FF), you can roughly estimate how good one lens is versus another in the same format. But comparing numbers directly wouldn’t make sense, because we are dealing with two completely different formats. The same will apply to the upcoming Fuji GFX lens reviews that I am planning to publish – can’t compare those numbers to APS-C or FF.
Hi Nasim, Thanks for this review of the Fujinon XF 10-24. I´m one more user who has migrated to Fuji due to the lens it offers. From my previous equipment, I only miss the ergonomics and the “feeling” that I had with the Nikon D7200. Right now, I think that Fujifilm is the brand offers a better value for money for photography lenses for APSC sensors. I´ve the XF 16-55 and this XF 10-24 and I´m happy with the result they offer. As soon as I can, I’ll get the XF 55-200 R LM. Regards.
Javier, thank you for your feedback! Fuji lenses are indeed excellent, and it is also one of the reasons why I invested in the system. Love traveling light while having excellent image quality!
Recently purchased XT-30 with the 18-55mm kit lens. Surprised that that combination gave me better resolution than my D500 with 16-80 lens! Planning a trip to the Middle East relatively soon and thinking of taking the Fujifilm combo. I have enjoyed your review of the Fujifilm 10-24mm lens and your fabulous pictures; can’t help that that lens would help me to obtain better pictures of monuments and landscape. Should I obtain copy of the new iteration Fuji 10-24mm lens or alternatively a budget new Samyang 12mm lens to save resources?

This lens is one of the reasons why I use Fuji X-System…thanks for review!
Great review Nasim. The more I use this lens, the more I like it. I used to use a Nikon D850 (or D750) with the Nikon 17-35mm for landscape work. Since discovering the Fuji X-T3 and this 10-24mm, I have not looked back. The Fuji system just saves so much size and weight with virtually no apparent sacrifice in image quality.
Most people don’t realize that they don’t need a full-frame camera – modern APS-C sensors are superb, and Fuji has done a great job with its APS-C line of cameras and lenses. I recently wrote an article on the best Fuji lenses, and as some readers noted, most Fuji lenses are truly superb. I couldn’t agree more – it was tough to put together that list!
