I bought two X-H1s in late 2019 when they were on sale for $999 each. I have the 16mm F2.8, 23mm F2, 35mm F2, 90mm F2 lenses and am pleased with all of them. I don’t shoot video and aside from auto ISO and the histogram use digital cameras like I used film cameras. Film sims instead of film. I will keep these cameras for years. If these cameras take good photos in 2019 they will still take good photos in 2029 regardless of how many new improved models have come out during that ten years.

Nasim, I think you made a mistake and used images from the GFX 100S by accident! There is no way these photos are with an APS-C camera! Every one of these could be in National Geographic magazine.
I decided recently to start fresh in the Fuji System (after some poor experiences long ago with the -100 series, mostly dealing with AF). After seeing the potential of this camera, I may well buy a good used sample to begin my Fuji journey. I am interested mainly in Landscape, Travel and Nature. I can’t imagine a better camera for IQ and value at the current price point. I was looking forward to getting into the GFX line down the road, coming from a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II, but after seeing your pictures, I don’t think it will be necessary. I’ll just look toward the X-H2 coming in 2022 for my next upgrade. Really well done review, and I think it swayed me away from the X-T3/4 for my first purchase based on what I read and saw here. Thanks for taking the time to share this review!
Update: 01/25/2022 I did indeed buy an excellent condition, lightly-used X-H1 and am starting my journey with a Fujinon 50mm f/2. Based on your superb sample photos using this lens, I look forward to trying it out in different scenarios to really learn the camera. Once again, this was a really well-done and thorough camera review. Thank you so much!

Hi Nasim, I’m thinking about purchasing a used body. I have read of people having problems with unplanned resets, and focusing issues with certain lenses, but I was wondering if you or anyone had an opinion about this, or going with the Xt3 at this point (September 2020)? The IBIS is appealing to me for low light. The X-h1 in general is more appealing. Thank you so much.
I have had zero problems with my two bodies after roughly 18 months.

Excellent Review, Nasim. I borrowed my friends X-H1 for a few days and replaced my X-T3 and X-T30 with my own X-H1 the following week. As you said its worth it just for the IBIS and the Shutter system. I can shoot handheld 1/15 of a second and even slower if i try. In my use, the only feature that is inferior to X-T3/T30 is the Eye-AF, so I only use Face AF. I own only 2 lenses 35/2 and 56/1.2 and they are both gold now. Luckily I bought my X-H1 for under $500 with 4200 shutter count. I know the X-T4/X-H2 with IBIS is coming soon but it will be close to $2000.

Thanks for a great review. I remain amazed by the ongoing mindset when it comes to photographic gear of mine is better. Even the D5 and D850 have shortcomings. I am a nikon user for 40 yrs and love the brand, however I love Fuji as a second system. I had the D500 and sold it as I wanted the smaller body for travel. But lack of quality grass for the system offered my Nikon. I got the X-H1 and 16-135. It replaces my D810 and 24-120 f4 as travel camera. Is it better? Well with this I never leave an a business trip without a quality camera and lens. I enjoy everything about this combination. I have fun shooting a smaller system. My Nikon system is used for wildlife and Nature photography and is fantastic.

Hi Nasim, I too have used a great many cameras in my very long professional career (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax, and Fuji). I finally settled on the Fuji X-H1. What a marvelous camera to use. Currently I own the Fuji X-H1 after trying out the Fuji X-30, X-T2. I also own 6 Fuji lenses. The IBIS is paramount in my shooting. Thank you again for the excellent review. Steve Bingham

I have xt3 and I’m happy with it; is responsive enough, probably waiting for updates, which will make this camera even better in the future. However, I decided to buy XH-1 because of IBIS and the snapshot. I like to experiment in difficult lighting conditions and I have a lot of manual lenses. Without IBIS it is sometimes frustrating … Your review only confirmed me. Great article; very practical, thank you! and beautiful pictures!

Thanks for the review Nasim. I will now buy the XH-1 after reading about the ibis. I have Fuji zooms and most primes but find the primes are a little redundant as the 16-55mm covers 4 primes during the day time shooting. But the ibis on the XH-1 will now open up a lot more opportunities for nighttime street photography which is equally enjoyable. And at around £750 for mint condition bodies it’s too good not to buy.

Can you clarify the following statement at the beginning of the review “With most high-end M43, APS-C and full-frame mirrorless cameras on the market featuring in-body image stabilization (IBIS)”. I see this mentioned quite a bit in regards to Fuji cameras. The APS-C form factor introduces a significant challenge for IBIS due to the trade-offs of users wanting a compact camera as one of the benefits of mirrorless. M43 allows the IBIS mechanism to be smaller and full frame bodies need to be bigger to allow for the sensor. With aps-c the user wants a small camera which then causes issues trying to fit the IBIS in the body. I believe the only aps-c mirrorless cameras are one model from Sony and the the x-h1. A few reviews I’ve read aren’t that favorable of the Sony’s system for that model. From your initial statement; are there any other aps-c mirrorless with IBIS? Great write-up as always. I would love to have an x-h1 for long focal length and adapted lenses to go along with my x-t30.

Have you tried the autofocus since it was updated? I am considering picking up an XH1 to replace my D610. I have started to take photos at mountain bike races. The 610 cannot keep up. I have thought about replacing the 610 with a 750 but I use AFD lenses (I carry an F4 as well) and would rather not have to buy new Nikon lenses that will not work with the F4. I do not think that I would get the AF speed of the 750 with AFD screw drive lenses. I would rather sell off a few of the AFD lenses and switch to a lighter body and lenses and keep a couple of primes with for the F4.
