Salt Marshes at Seilebost

Directions

The A859 from Tarbert will take you to Seilebost. Turn into the parking place by the school and walk the short distance to the marshes and the estuary.

Photo Spot Details

The Isle of Harris, with some exceptions, is a sunset rather than sunrise location. The winds on the isle can be fierce, so a good, firm tripod is essential, and fitting spikes to the legs is probably a good idea. This shot was taken at about 8pm in May: 70mm, 1/13sec at f.16. The weather is often harsh in winter and unpredictable at other times, but those are the reasons the photographer will enjoy perfect peace.
