Pothamedu view point at the top of the Pothamedu Mountain (in Munnar, Kerala, India ) gives you a panoramic view tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in the valley. The mighty green mountains, hills, cool climate and the scenic beauty make it sought after place for trekking, hiking and long mountain walks. There are a number of hotels on the way up where tourists can halt for a quick snack bite or full meals.
What to carry: A camara to capture the magnificent landscape, perpetual greenery of Munnar and unique beds of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations running down the hills. Wear warm clothes to prevent chilling amidst the icy mist at the top of the viewpoint.We visited during September when it rains and also brings lot of photo opportunities along with heavy clouds
When to visit: During weekends, the place is comparatively crowded. To enjoy solitude with a quick excursion, opt for weekdays any day-time of the year.
A word of caution: Watch out for broken, zig-zag roads towards higher altitude.
