Best Photo Spots in United States - Page 3

Patuxent Research Refuge

Patuxent Research Refuge is a great place to view wildlife and especially birding. I saw a flock of blue herons just whiz by. Unfortunately I couldn't capture any of them because I did not have a telephoto lens then. Tripods are allowed and encouraged. Many of the best photo spots...

Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

The great basilica in Washington D.C. If you're into church architecture, this place is a must. Beautiful stained glasses, grand chapel, the whole package. Tripod and flash are NOT allowed. BUT! you can take one of those Joby Gorilla pods and get away with taking pictures. That's how I took...

Arlington National Cemetery

The moment you step onto these hallowed grounds, you instantly feel that wave of emotion hit you. I wanted to talk a bit about the feature photograph here because I think this is the best photograph I have taken so far. (more…)

Tidal Basin

Needless to say, Tidal Basin during the Cherry Blossom Festival gets very VERY crowded. Best time to photograph would be around 7 AM during a weekday, when DC residents are working and tourists are asleep. Tripods are allowed but actual use may be challenging if you go during a peak...

Chicago Botanic Garden

Mt. Rushmore National Memorial

If you're going to South Dakota and near Black Hills you won't miss this place. After viewing the carved architecture from the other side do the 0.4 mile loop hike that takes you at the foot of the mountain. This hike is really good if you want different angle photographs...

Denver Skyline and Fireworks

This place has a nice vantage point to get Denver Skyline panorama looking East of the city so no mountains. I went to this location on the eve of July 4th as I expected fireworks from Civic Center which is to the far right. (more…)

Badlands Near Cedar Pass

During our trip we stayed at Cedar pass campground and they also have cabins. Staying here is the best to wake up early and be at right spots at right time rather than driving all the way from Rapid City or something like that. (more…)
