Amazing Fuji X-H1 Deal ($999 or free with a lens)!

By Nasim Mansurov 17 Comments

For a limited time, Fujifilm has discounted the X-H1 to just $999, which is a killer price for such a superb camera. The X-H1 was initially released at $1,899 and you had to pay an additional $329 if you wanted the vertical grip. Now, Fuji is basically giving away the grip if you buy the camera, which basically brings the price of the camera down to $670.

Fuji X-H1 with Grip

The deal can be sweetened up even more, if you want to get the Fuji XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR lens, Fujifilm’s top ultra-wide angle lens for the X system. The lens by itself retails for $1,999. So if you factor in the price of the lens and the $2,298 bundle deal with the X-H1 that includes the vertical grip, you basically get the X-H1 for free. Actually, if you work out the math correctly, Fujifilm is paying you $30 to get the X-H1 :)

Fuji is known to give amazing deals, but this one beats them all, by a big margin.

If you are wondering whether the X-H1 is worth buying, check out my detailed Fuji X-H1 review. For my needs, I ended up choosing the X-H1 over the X-T3, which I have zero regrets about (see the review for more info).

I am not sure if Fuji is planning to release the X-H2 any time soon, but this is clearly a move to empty the shelves. If you wanted to get the X-H1, now is the time to do it!

Update: The X-H1 with the 16-55mm is discounted by $800 and it is another great deal if you want to get a more practical lens.

I already have an X-T3, but that price for 1700 bucks with the 16 to 55 is really a wow…

Wish I could sell my XT2 right now that I bought for $1,099 w/out lens or power booster, and exchange for an XH1. It’s a great deal, and a great time for the photography market. Sony also has been having great deals on their full frame A7 & A7 II.

I bought the X-H1 shortly after it was introduced and payed pretty much full price. And guess what!

I do not regret it for a second :-)

Incredible deal. I’d buy today if this deal was in Europe!

Thanks Nasim. I saw that deal yesterday and ordered the X-H1 with the 16-55 f 2.8 for $1,698. This lens retails for $1,199 so I got the X-H1 with battery grip for $500. Sweet! Last week the body + grip would have cost $1,300. I have carefully read your reviews and thanks for your hard work, really appreciate it!
By the way, I did not forget to click above on your websites menu ‘shop/support us’ when I ordered :)

(Perhaps add a link at the end of your post? People will buy…)

Roel, I saw the deal for the X-H1 with the 16-55mm f/2.8, but the 8-16mm deal was a little better, which is why I posted it. Still, the 16-55mm f/2.8 is a lot more practical lens, so that’s probably the deal I would recommend for most of our readers.

I updated the article with links to the X-H1 and 16-55mm, thanks for letting me know!

Howdy Nasim. I have a certain nostalgia for the X-H1. First, because it’s such a wonderful tool for video. Second, because I LOVE this beautiful video that Jan Schwarz shot with the X-H1 in Japan: www.youtube.com/watch…ut7QUTQml8.

I eventually sold my Fuji gear because the humble Canon 6D is more suited to my work as a generalist “utility photographer” for a school, church, and community. Which I guess is to say that in photography, as in just about everything else, black-or-white, either-or thinking is madness! There are just so many wonderful tools for photographic artists today, from the iPhone to the D850, and on and on. We are blessed. :)

Reports are that the X-H1 didn’t sell very well which is a shame because if it had come out instead of the X-T2 I would probably still be using Fuji. The last financial reports showed some big negatives for the imaging division, too. I wonder if they’re simply discounting to clear inventory and get revenue or if a X-H2 is around the corner?

It is hard to say, but it is clear that they just want to get rid of the stock as soon as possible.

Nasim, thanks. I am still using my XT-1 that I purchased in 2014 as my “fun” camera. This might be an offer I can’t refuse.

Paul, can’t recommend the X-H1 enough. In my opinion, it is the best APS-C camera on the market today.

I bet they’re going to be announcing the X-H2 then. Updated sensor with possibly a similar stabilization as the GFX100 along with the new 4K processing options as the X-T3?

Aaron, that would be amazing, but I personally would find no reason to move up if all I got was the same sensor as the X-T3 and similar 4K video recording options… I think Fuji is going to have to challenge its engineers to make a vastly improved X-H2, since the X-H1 is already near darn perfect!

hey Nasim, one thing I found out with my X-T2 that my X-E1 and X-E2s didn’t have was a bunch of hot pixels on long exposures. Yes, this was after pixel mapping.
Have you tried a ~1min+ long exposure yet?
when I got my X-T3 before I sold my X-T2 I tested them back to back and the X-T3 did not have the issue. I’ve ready other folks with the same problem on the X-T2, not sure about X-H1 but it has the same sensor…

Mel, that’s strange – I didn’t notice any issues with the X-H1 or the X-T2, and I did use both for long exposures. Perhaps the conditions were hot when you were shooting?

I have been really contemplating a switch to mirrorless from Nikon DSLRs. The XH1 has been tempting but the AF is not up to speed in comparison and as I use my camera to shoot multiple things, I just cannot buy it. That and battery life is pretty bad. If the XH2 improves the AF accuracy and they stick a real battery in there, I will definitely buy.
