It came as the kit lens for the D70s. I used it for years and never noticed the need for VR. It is a great lens. Easy to use too. Dropped it and broke it but am giving thought to sending it in for a repair estimate.
Used this combo for quite a few years and still have both. They still work. Can’t beat Nikon reliability!
Great lens even today. I got this lens with my D70s. With the D7100 it is awesome. Wish Nikon made it with VR.
Amazing value for money and, used wisely, surprisingly sharp.
This is a nice lens. I have one attached all the time to my Nikon D5100. It has that bit of extra range versus the 18-55 kit lens. These are still around, I have bought two of them on eBay, both in very nice condition. I gave one to my daughter. It would be even nicer if Nikon would re-release ths lens and put VR on it.
