I recently purchased one of these as a prime portrait lens for use on both my d7100 and d700. I’m very pleased with the results I’ve got with the D7100. I’ve yet to use it on my D700 much to give a remark there. The lens is very sharp in my opinion. Perhaps too sharp sometimes. I found the DOF to be very shallow and i’ve missed a few shots because of focusing on the wrong area. I highly recommend this. Just be aware of focus and DOF.
