Maybe I have missed something, I have set up folders, by years, in a catalog but I don’t know how to get them into what I set up for them. I’m a beginner and I haven’t found that step by step instruction. Its “do this then that to be just do this and that.” I have so many photos that I want to see but they are all over the place. As I was getting Lightroom to work it never “saw” my photos, many tech talks with them, 3 remote visits, I finally got the right guy! he fixed whatever was wrong, This went on for weeks to a point I was at the end of my rope. It was awful, there was no flow of conversation through a chat, I’m hearing impaired, if someone has an accent and I can’t see them, so chat was the only way. so I’m all set to start editing. Wonderful tutorial!

Hi Spencer
Are there any tutorial articles on “Preference, Color Management, System Settings” for Lightroom Classic?
Thanks, John

Been a Lightroom user for quite some time but thought I will go through the tutorial and glad I did. Many things are now clear and make my work much easier. Thank you.

I just got Lightroom and found your tutorial to be very useful. Although there are many Youtube options, I am more of a visual person and learn by seeing and doing. Your tutorial helped me do just that, clicking back and forth between the tutorial and Lightroom, where I was able to follow along. I will bookmark it and keep it handy for future reference. Thanks.

Thankyou Very Much Very well written & explained God Bless You.
Very helpful article. I have been doing B&W darkroom seriously for a long time and am just taking up digital photography as a more serious matter. I currently have my recent couple years of photos organized on my Mac laptop under their Photos system and have been simply using the apple editing options for touch ups. I have been shooting RAW +JPEG a lot and would like to pay the RAW files some attention. I also have a whole bunch of photos transferred from an old Dell saved as files in regular folders.
Moving forward I want to establish a system for storing my photos that will best integrate with Lightroom. Basically, keep storing in photos, or start storing in a “photos” folder with sub-folders. Suggestions? Thanks for your thoughts.

I like to read tutorials rather than watch them on YouTube, but it’s hard to find well-written ones. This one is PERFECT! Thank you so much. I’ve used other adobe products but never dared to crack open Lightroom until now, and Thanks to your article I feel like I’m off to a good start.
