Okay everyone, looks like this year is coming to an end so...for this week, what about your favourite shot of the year?
One of me personal favorite shots from 2024. Taken at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, in Maryland.
Taken on R7, 325mm on the RF 100-400. Shot at 1/1600 f8 at ISO 640.
Selecting the shot of the year was very difficult for me. In May I was on Karpathos and had the luck to take photos of two barn owls. These pictures have been the most challenging I ever did, as the barn owls were sitting 50 m above me in a rock wall. In November I was in Morroco and did a walk of 100 km through the desert. And I brought back 1.500 photos with spectatular landscape photos.
But finally I decided for theis picture taken at a freestyle kayak championship in my home town. The girl jumped out of the water with her kayak up in the air, made a roll, and I captured the moment, when the kayak was above her. One second later she was completely under water.

I've serious problems in choosing only one, so I'll tell you why I've posted two. Please, apologize this

It took us 3 hrs walking on the coastline of the isle of Unst to find this family of sea otters. I love this photo because it was my fist experience in wildlife photography.
.... but most of my time I prefer to shoot flowers, quite a different genre.
Nikon Z7II, Laowa 100 mm f/2.8 Macro 2x 100 ISO, 1/50, f/2.8.
Stack of 33 photos. Tripod and NiSi slide. Natural light.
This is a Tricyrtis, grown on my terrace. This flower has two plans, one for the petals and one for the reproductive part, which came out like a fountain from the first. It took me many attempts to separate the two and focust staking was the only option to get the effect I was looking for.
PS: I never cut flowers to picture them.
Killdeer on a Lake Ontario beach. “Killdeer get their name from their shrill, wailing, two-syllable call, which is often heard.”

Well, first post didn't take.... odd.
This one was a lot of fun! Spent a year preparing for an event I never though would happen in my own backyard! Pretty good for my low standards - but mostly just FUN!
‘Twas late September 2024 and the weather was hazy this morning in central Brittany (France), with a promise of no sunshine for the entire day. In fact, this weather lasted a few weeks, which is quite unusual for Brittany, usually called the land where the sun shines many times a day. So ‘twas early morning with no light, but a desperate will to shoot.
While walking around the Stupa at Drukpa Plouray Buddhist Center, I saw the lights illuminating the statue of Tara and thought it could make a good shot through the French window, so I chose to shoot with maximum aperture in order to get as much light as possible and framed, and here is the result.
