Thanks everyone for submitting in last week's theme. This week's theme is "distance". Show us a photo that shows the concept of distance!
Not sure if this counts - but was a lot of fun trying to take. A two minute exposure on a Star Adventurer was supposed to be a piece of cake. Well, there is that issue with the vibration reduction in the 180-600. Are we in focus? Where is Polaris again? Why do the stars look like dumbells? (The breeze.)
Well, good enough before I get frustrated and mount the rig to a block of concrete! Regardless, taking photos of birds is more fun.
Nikon Z7ii 120s
Nikkor 180-600 F9 840mm (1.4 teleconverter)
Star Adventurer 2i pointed somewhere near Polaris- I think.
(I'm pretty sure the 4 streaks extending from the center of the nebula to the top right of the photo are starlink satellites. The streaks appear in 1/3 the photos in various locations.)
I called this one "Into The Distance", so well there you go :)
On our way to Langedrag Naturpark in the Buskerud province (Norway) I was sitting in the passenger seat toying with my camera and slow shutter speeds. Shot at a wide angle to get a great feel of the distance. Handheld, so nothing sharp however luckily the road was straight for quite a distance - something that doesn't happen often in Norway! ;-)
