This week's challenge is "plants". Show off your best plant shots. It could be the biological kind...or any other kind!
An image shot in the Lofoten - Norway. There are a lot of these "tundra fields" where the vegitation is just spectacular. These firns where lined up nicely to a small tree / bush in the background. D800, f8, 24-70 f2.8 @34mm, ISO 100, 1/5s

It was a windy day in late March. I was trying to photograph the wind in various trees. in the evening. I saw this sapling and immediately took a picture of it. I used my Canon Powershot A590IS in P mode.

Western red columbine are an infrequent sighting for me. This example was growing in a ditch along a back road in Oregon, about ½ mile north of the California border. I saw it from my road bike. After bicycling 32 miles home I drove there with camera gear. The flowers were in shade, and also in wind. A dual macro flash was used to freeze motion. Shutter was chosen to be slow enough to all ow some illumination of the nacent blossoms in background. I was on my belly, surronded by poison oak, and in very close, near the 5 ¾" MFD of my Laowa 15mm Zero-D. (f/11, ISO 100, 1/100", Sony a7Riii) My only criticism of this photo is that I came perilously close to blowing highlights on the unexpectedly reflective stamen. I won't forget taking this photo!
Chlorophyll in smoketree leaves does interesting tricks with sunlight. Shaded leaves are green. Light reflected from top surfaces facing into the sun is violet. Transilluminated leaves are red and orange. This tree is by our south facing patio. Background is a small stand of oaks across the street. Sony 2.8/90 macro @ f/5.6 w/ CPL, a7Rv ISO 100 1/125"
