Congratulations Photography Life for starting this new forum. Like many, I was looking for a new place with the news about DPR closing. I've come here to Photography Life for a long time as a great source of information and reviews, but had to head over to DPR for the forums and to watch the cat fights any time Leica announced something:)
I have lots of digital and film Nikons (F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, 35Ti, D850, SP, 1AW1, Z50, Z6 II) and Leicas (M6, M10, Q2M), but the camera with the most framed photographs on the walls of our house, is the Leica CL with the little 18mm f/2.8 kit lens.
I'm a huge fan of the L-Mount, and am glad it is a break out forum topic, and not mixed in with the M people;)
I'll just site here by myself until another L-Mount guy comes along:)
Welcome @jcalchi! Glad to hear you're liking the L-mount. I thought it had some of the best lenses I've used, when I tested the Panasonic S1R a few years ago.
What subjects do you find yourself using the CL to photograph? It looks like it would be a great camera for travel and street / just carrying around everywhere. I've always been curious about Leica even though I live outside their ecosystem. Their lightweight cameras especially.
Hi jcalchi,
Can’t have you waiting here by yourself. There are at least two of us.
Never used a Leica myself. I would love to see some examples of you favorites, please post.
I am new to the L-mount (Panasonic S5 mark ii), having transitioned from Fujifilm (X-H2s and X-H2 and many other past models). I thoroughly enjoy the new camera and lenses.
I too was a former Nikon user with a D5200, D7200, D800, D810 and V1.
Thank you PL for the new forum. I look forward to the community growing.
Michael
