I found that the resolution scores of some old F-mount lenses are still the old style, such as Nikon 80-400mm VR, Nikon 200-500mm VR, Tamron SP 15-30mm. This makes it almost impossible for readers to compare the sharpness between these lenses and new lenses. I wonder if the author has any plans to update.
Yes, for the lenses you mention, we are planning to update the tests on Nikon's 45 megapixel sensor. I don't have an estimated date for you yet. Other lenses that we tested on Nikon's 36MP sensor are hard to find in stock any more and may not be re-tested.
@spencer Thank you very much for your reply. I know that many old lens from the film era are difficult to find samples to re-test, but that doesn't matter because few people care about their sharpness. However, the lenses I mentioned are still common in the second-hand market, and many people around me use these as a replacement for top-notch lenses, or transfer to the Z Series camera as an entry-level telephoto len, which is undoubtedly a low-cost way to get exposure to photography. I am very happy to hear that you will be retesting these lenses later, and thank you very much for your efforts.
