Changes from "C" Firmware Version 1.02 to 1.10:

Note: The changes listed below under “Video Recording” and “Controls” are detailed in the Supplementary Firmware Update Manual.

Note: Due to the addition of new menu items, some Custom Settings menu items have been renumbered.

■ Video Recording

  • Added [Zebra pattern color] to g14 [Zebra pattern] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU].
  • Added options for customizing the brightness information display to g17 [Brightness information display] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU].

■ Controls

  • Added [Save and load power zoom position]* to f2 [Custom controls (shooting)] and g2 [Custom controls] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU].
  • The command dial roles in mode S can now be switched using g2 [Custom controls] > [Command dials] > [Exposure setting] in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU].
  • Added a [Zoom ring control (PZ lens)]* item to the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU] in position of f11.
  • Custom Settings f12 and g8 in the [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU] is now [Assign power zoom]. In addition, [Power zoom speed] has been divided into two items: [Power zoom speed (zoom buttons)] and [Power zoom speed (zoom switch)]*.

■ Other Changes

  • Added [Power zoom speed (zoom buttons)] to the roles assignable to the “i” menu via [CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU] > f1 and g1 [Customize <i> menu].
  • Reduced noise in dark areas of N-Log videos.
  • • Fixed the following issues:
    • In rare circumstances, the camera would stop responding during video recording when [Video file type] was set to [ProRes 422 HQ 10-bit (MOV)] and [Hi-Res Zoom] to [ON] in the video recording menu.
    • The camera would stop responding when the HDMI cable was disconnected after connecting the camera to an external monitor via HDMI and performing operations such as shooting or playback.
    • In rare circumstances, the camera would stop responding when rotating the photo/video selector to switch to video mode while [Video flicker reduction] > [Digital flicker reduction] was set to [ON] in the [VIDEO RECORDING MENU].
    • In rare circumstances, the camera would stop responding during video recording when an ATOMOS AirGlu BT compatible device was connected.
    • Noise would appear in the audio of the recorded video when an external microphone, which did not require a power supply, was connected and [Audio input sensitivity] was set to [Manual] in the video recording menu.
    • An error message appeared and recording ended without saving the video to the memory card when [Video file type] was set to [N-RAW 12-bit (NEV)] in the video recording menu and the remaining recording time was low.
    • Slight image shake occurred when recording videos under the following conditions:
      • A micro lens was attached.
      • [Electronic VR] was set to [ON] in the video recording menu.
      • The camera was fixed on a tripod or similar.
    • In rare circumstances, optimal exposure could not be achieved during burst shooting after changing the exposure in mode M.
    • The shutter release response became extremely slow after shooting using radio Advanced Wireless Lighting (AWL) with an optional WR-R10 wireless remote controller.
    • In rare circumstances, detection borders did not appear on the detected subjects during burst shooting.
