Can't quite figure how you used the Mac power adapter to charge a battery....
Not the Mac power adapter, but a recent iPad Pro power adapter, which is USB-C. With the iMac I connected the camera to one of its USB-C ports in the back.
To my eyes, the colors look slightly different from my (former) Z6 orig. Same lenses, and using NX Studio in the same way for converting NEFs. I like these colors better.
Could be a different CFA, the changes brought by Expeed 7 (in which case the colors should be close to the Zf's), or perhaps this is not an Exmor sensor?
I finally managed to get a few pixel shift photos that were merged with no problems by NX Studio. No tripod, but placed the camera on a flat(ish) stable support available on location. ES + 2s exposure delay. Pre-focused using back button/AF-C. Shutter speed varied between 1/125s and 1/1000s. Only used the 4-shot pixel shift.
Based on my calculations, this pixel shift mode adds about 1/3s to the total exposure time, regardless of the actual shutter speed. The merged file is a little larger that the size of the 4 shots combined. No scientific testing, but to my eyes the result is a bit more crisp (just like the AA filter was completely eliminated) but not by much. The AA filter in the Z6II must be pretty weak. I will experiment more with this, but for now it seems like it will help my photos in only a very few situations.
