Nikon Z6III, Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S, (Stone House, Manassas National Battlefield Park, Virginia, June 2024)
The Z6III is my first digital camera that did not come with an external battery charger in the box. I traded some older cameras & their chargers to get the Z6III, so I was left with no compatible external charger.
The EN-EL15c battery that came with the camera was not charged. I first tried to charge it in camera by connecting the provided UC-E25 USB-C cable to my iMac. The charge light on the camera indicated that it was working, but it was very slow. I then decided to use the iPad Pro power adapter to charge it, and it worked faster. I left it charging for a couple of hours, and it got to 100%.
Being so used to external charging, I decided to order a charger together with a second EN-EL15c. I ended up getting the MH-34 charger and the EH-8P power adapter, which work together with the included USB-C cable.
The MH-34 has additional blinking codes than the previous Nikon charges I am familiar with (and there is no manual to document that, in the box or online). A simple blinking light means that the battery is charging (like previous chargers), but also that it is less than 50% charged. Once it reaches 50%, the charger starts blinking twice rapidly. It will continue to do so until the battery reaches 80%. From there on, the charger will blink three times rapidly. When the battery is fully charged, the light with be on continuously (similar to previous chargers).
While these additional blinking codes do provide more info about the actual status of the battery compared to previous chargers, they may confuse new users for which several blinks in a row used to indicate charging errors. With the MH-34, the light will blink rapidly more than 3 times to indicate a faulty battery (8 times, as I read somewhere).
Just a heads-up for new users.

My first attempt at pixel shift ended in failure...
I tried the 4-shots option, both with mechanical shutter and electronic shutter. I was handholding the camera, but even though I went for a higher shutter speed, it looks like it was not enough for my shaky hands. Interestingly, NX Studio initially showed the merged photo as being perfect, but the moment I tried to edit it, the blurred mess was revealed :-]
Straight conversion from the merged photo to a TIFF file (without any editing) resulted in a similar blurry photo. I believe NX Studio uses the embedded JPEG from the first photo in the sequence as the embedded JPEG in the merged photo. It's a good thing the photos were individually saved. This is the first photo from one of my attempts:

Forgot to mention that the viewfinder goes fully dark during the pixel shift sequence.
I have not been able to find any official technical specification for the CFx slot. Based on Nikon's recommended cards, it appears to be 2.0. My old Sony CFx card (that I have used with the Z6) works fine for photos. I bought a new Nextorage B2PRO CFx 4.0 card which appears to work just fine for photos (I have not tried video yet). It also works with my old Sony CFx/XQD card reader, which is great!

I have had mine for a few days now. Tried it with Z100-400-not so happy with the bokeh. but when I put on the adapter and 500PF, I was thrilled.( I guess I can't add a photo-I just joined as a free member. ) I shoot birds, mistly, and have been happy with D500+500PF, so it remains to be seen if the Z6iii is a big improvement.
I also shoot a lot of birds with the 500 PF, so I ll be glad to have your feedback with the Z6III !

Looking forward to your comments!
You need to make a couple more regular posts before you are allowed to attach images.

Cool. Can't wait to see your shots -- actually you can post images here, but it takes a few posts first. That's an unfortunately necessary anti-spam measure that this forum has.
@jpolakphotography Thanks for the welcome. I'll be processing some photos to show, whenever it is allowed.
@crow Thanks. I still have a lot to learn, being new to this camera and format.
@darin-marcus Thanks for that info. I still have my old chargers-they do work on the newer batteries-just so people know. I hate the idea of tying up my camera for so long to charge up the battery, so I'm glad to have an external charger. Can't quite figure how you used the Mac power adapter to charge a battery....
