The wait is almost over!
Online launch on June 17 at 8am ET:
It will be really interesting to see which direction they go with this camera. Do they go the "safer" route and basically make a Z6ii with a better processor and a few other bumps, or do they do something more unique like they did with the Zf. Guess we'll find out next week :)
Based on the teaser, it looks like it will have pre-capture and a better EVF. Not sure how to interpret the "beautiful colors in a camera this small" quote - is it about getting MF colors in a FF camera, or about colors in video compared to specialized/bigger videocams?
There have been rumors about something new & special related to the sensor - most recently about better dynamic range and colors at high ISO.
What is also interesting is the fact that a few people have posted about already testing the camera and preparing an initial review to be released on launch day - among them Steve Perry, a well known wildlife photographer... And why DPReview does not appear to have one for testing while PetaPixel has it...
@darin-marcus Yeah, Nikon has for sure had an evolving strategy when it comes to pre-release reviews. I remember a few years ago when people blasted them for not giving gear to youtubers in advance, but they have done that more lately it seems.
Now the Z6 III is out...what do people think of it? Looks like a great camera to me. I wasn't expecting internal Raw video.
I preordered!
This will replace my first gen Z6. I expect the ergonomics will be better for me (a little taller than the original Z6 will help my pinky :-)). Looking forward to the new viewfinder, the improved sensor, pixel shift (mostly the 4-shot option for better colors and dynamic range), and the focus-centered image stabilization. I may finally start shooting video :-]
Does anyone know if the CFexpress slot supports the 4.0 standard?
Great coverage by the PL team on the main site - thank you Jason, Spencer & co.
Another thing that I have not seen discussed anywhere yet is whether the Z 6 III has that extra manual focus support introduced with the Zf. My Voigtlander 50mm f/1.0 would like to know :-)

First look on Ricci Talks:
Good to know: the right camera strap lug may partially block the memory card door :-]
Steve Perry's first look:
Good news: Z 6 III supports AF handoff, and we can (finally) configure the camera to turn the focus square(s) green when focus is achieved in AF-C mode!

I now have confirmation from 2 different sources that the MF focus assist capability of the Zf is indeed available in the Z6 III.
This camera looks very promising. I can't see any missing feature. This new viewfinder seems very good too.
There is not much room left for a potential Z7III between this Z6 and the Z8.
@darin-marcus Nice find regarding the manual focus capabilities!

Thank you Spencer!
I can manually focus the Voigtlander f/1 on my Z6 I, but the Zf has those additional capabilities which I also wanted.
My pinky is happy!
