I've always been happy with the D610, but as I finalize the finishing touches on my F mount set up, I realize I've never used the D750 in all these years. So, curiosity got the best of me and I ordered a like new one.
I tend to be excited about changes that aren't prominent on marketing material. Items such as adding highlighted weighted metering, easy ISO added, and a new translucent oled display in the finder. Those examples light my fire far more than some new video features, a tilt screen, or half a frame per second faster continuous drive.
So it will be interesting comparing it to my lovely D610 (the camera that got me into the F mount permanently). It should be documented that I didn't buy it with the intention of replacing my D610 at all, I have no preconceived plans other than mere curiosity, so we shall see what kind of impression it makes on me and go from there.

Curious to see where this adventures brings you. The D610 was a camera many people bashed due to oil spots on the sensor. It was / is a very capable camera though.

@delange I think you mean the D600 :). Same basic camera but the D610 solved that issue.
That aside, I've got it in hand now. Already got it all set up in the menu. Best quick summary is that it feels like a D810/610 hybrid. A progressive improvement in most ways over the D610, but in most ways just slight improvements.
I think the biggest things are the HL weighted metering, and further customization options that speed up every kind of operation and make it a more convenient camera to use. The deeper grip is noticeable too, very much like the D810 or D500 in feel.
Its AF system is very fast, feels a stutter step more eager/sure than the D610 which was already very very good in ample light. We're probably talking about mathematical fractions of a second quicker but noticeable nevertheless.
I'll post more soon- but feels like a refined D610 mainly so far.

I loved the D610. I might miss it a bit, truth be told. My path was D70s, D90, D600, D610.
For me, though, the live view shooting was always a problem. I do really like the option to shoot from the back screen, and that really doesn't work out so well on DSLRs (and it registers two shutter activations for each shot, which is annoying). Now, on the Z6, shooting from the back screen is pretty seamless, and the WYSIWYG part has been a game changer for me. But if I were to dip my toe back into the f-mount world, I do think it'd be the D750. Or the D780, which reportedly incorporates some mirrorless features?
@robcar Yeah it's a good cam. I won't be parting with it. I added a 28-300mm Tamron to it (2nd gen) and put it in my car glove box with a charged battery. Emergency back up camera that can do most things ready at hand!
I always thought that mirrorless had the advantage on live view shooting (from the rear). Canon's dual pixel made live view refreshing but they are out of the DSLR game now completely. Nikon never got very good at live view autofocusing, but I found that the D800/810 did just fine for me on landcapes.
