Hello everyone, I have a trip coming to the Grand Canyon and antelope Canyon.
I am told that is a huge amount of dust in antelope Canyon. I am taking my Nikon Z6 and my Nikon 24–120 mm F4Z lens. I am not planning to do any lens change. Any idea how to protect the camera and lens from dust inside the canyon?
thank you much in advance.
Normally I would not worry about it, but sometimes guides in Antelope are tossing dust into the air. You're right to be careful.
The normal solutions are to use a rain cover - taped down if appropriate. You might also try to be careful using lenses that move in and out as you zoom.
When you finish, use a damp cloth to wipe down your gear as soon as is practical. Don't forget to clean the mount and the eyepiece or viewfinder.
Don't take a lot of gear into the canyon. You don't want to be burdened with cleaning dust out of a camera bag.
Finally - be sure you have tools to clean the sensor - at least a blower and sensor brush.
