This should be a powerful enough laptop, to handle Lightroom, Photoshop, right?
@Richiero, the new MacBook Pros with M2 are powerful enough to handle practically anything. The only thing I would not shy away from is RAM - add the maximum you can afford. In your case, just to make the whole experience of working with Lightroom and Photoshop smoother (with them running at the same time), I would opt for 32 GB of RAM instead of 16. But if your budget is maxed out at 16 GB, then still go for it, you won't have any regrets!
You are most welcome!
I own a Mac Mini M1 since quite a while now. It has 16 GB of RAM which was the max supported at that time. It runs LR and PS like a charm. I guess the M2 is even more powerful than the M1. The Mac Mini is several multitudes faster than my 5 years old Dell XPS 15 with an Intel Core i7 and 16 GB RAM.

I was using a mid-2015 15" Macbook Pro and it was showing in the slowness of handling high MP files. Just moved up to a 14" M2Max MacBookPro.
I wwas looking at the M2 Pro and wanted 32GB RAM. However, that was a special order with about a 2 week delivery. Cost to go from 16 to 32 was $400.
For an added $200, I could move from the Max to the Pro with 32 GB of Ram anda faster processor for only $200 more than the special order, and I could have it now. That is what I did, also buying a small stand and a 10TB LaCie drive for expanded backup.
Absolutely love this system!
@jas I opted for storage over memory or chip upgrades. I moved up to a 1T drive. My previous computer was an iMac (2015) with 8GB of memory and a 1T drive. As Photoshop and Lightroom got upgrades g , the computer got slower to the point that it was not usable running PS and LR was barely usable. I purchased the MacBook 14'" Pro with the M2Pro chip, 16GB memory and a 1T drive. From my iMac I added a Magic Keyboard with key pad, a Magic Mouse a Trackpad 2. I also kept, a 5T, 2T, and 1T external hard drives. I added a Dell S2722 QC 4K monitor for use at home. I've run PS and LR since getting the MacBook and it's very quick.
