Lots of life left in M4/3 systems. Glad to be here.
With the OM-1, you'll have a kindred spirit in Nicholas Hess, AKA @greatwhiterattlesnake! It's an excellent camera. We've tried to expand our Micro Four Thirds reviews based on feedback from our readers, and will be publishing more soon.
I love micro four thirds and use my G9 constantly. I also hope to write more micro four thirds articles!
M43 & Nikon user here. Looking forward to many articles and discussions.
I have a Panasonic GX85, Panasonic 35-100 and Olympus 9-18 as my small and light loadout. 18-36 and 70-200 equivalent all small enough to hold in one hand or a large pocket can't be beat.
M43 still has a lot of unique benefits and I'm always interested in reading M43 articles.
Hi,
my name is Reinhard, I´m using Nikon and mFt, Olympus and Panasonic.
OM-1 with 4.0/300 + TC 1.4 and also PL 100-400
The mFt is for Wildlife and animals. I like it because of the weight and size
I am developing an interest in OMD for macro, seems more and more macro shooters are using them.
Hi, switched from DSRL to Olympus a few years back. Reason: weight and size. Result: happy with my choice
@bigmo - Seems like a good camera for macro using the HHHR modes, so that makes sense. Not only those but the focus stacking modes. m4/3 kind of has that nailed better than any other maker out there.

Love my OM-1 as well as my gx9 and gx85 (which Kolari converted to 590nm). I also shoot two from Sony: a7R3 and a65. Then there are the (still functional) film cameras: Canon FTb and Voigtländer VITO CLR.
Greetings. I continued with Olympus by moving from 4/3 to m4/3, and am happy with the system. I shoot an EM1-II, with 12-40 removed link , 40-150 removed link , both teleconverters, and a Sigma 56 removed link I will be updating/upgrading to an OM-1 in the next couple months, and will add the 300/4 as well. This will be logistically challenging as I spend most of the year in Mexico, and while purchasing here in Mexico is possible, IVA (VAT) is prohibitive, and I wish to avoid possible issues with extended warranty purchases. My plan is a trip to NYC to pick up gear at B&H. Looking forward to shooting surfing and wildlife, and the success of this forum.
@searun OM-1 and 4.0/300 is a very good package for wildlife, I would recommend to buy also the MC 1.4
This is what I´m using
