Just wanted to say Hi!
I'm a long time Canon shooter, having moved over to Canon from Nikon when the original Canon 5D came out. Prior to that I shot Nikon 35 from the Ftn, up to the F6.
Currently I'm using R5's with the R versions of 15~35 2.8, 24~70 f.2.8, and 70~200 f.28. These are my bread and butter lens. I have some of the long glass that is like never used in the old mounts.
I shoot primarily glamour, advertising, and events\clubs. Always fun!
Stay safe,
JimiV
Welcome, @jimivphotography! I'm a big fan of the EOS R system and plan to review a lot of Canon mirrorless equipment later this year. I used the R5 for a few months of testing and still consider it one of my favorite cameras. How are you liking it? Your type of photography is very different from mine, I mostly shoot landscapes.
@spencer I'm really liking it. Very different than my previous 5D4 and 1DX3 bodies. There are things I love about the new mirrorless and things that drove me nuts in the start of the transition. But now, I've really started to get comfortable and 2nd nature with it. I know I have more to explore with it, but it's a learn as I go thing!
I love good landscape and costal shots. Love great wildlife shots as well. I suck at them, just not my thing to do, but I sure like looking at them! I have two friends that shoot for NatGeo. They lay in freezing streams and in crazy locations to get their images. Not for me! I much prefer to direct a model, or weave my way through an event. :)
Welcome to our new forum JimiV! Hope you can edit your profile now - let us know if you have any issues.
Welcome to the forum! I mostly shoot Nikon but have shot the R5 as well and it's a great camera.
I'm a Canon shooter and have a lot to learn. Look forward to the discussions.
