Help on R5 focus area handoff

A bit late to the party but are you in a sense simply trying to have both spot and tracking available at the press of a button without having to go into the menus and change stuff on the fly? Because the way I set up my canon bodies is the following:
-Disable shutter button focus

-Leave AF-on to spot focus

-Remap the * button from exposure lock to AF function recall, where I add AF start, tracking on, Eye AF and specify the subject I want to track

That way I just have to moe my thumb one button right or left to engage tracking or spot.
