Hi, I always had XQD cards on my Z6 and Z6II, I will add a third body in the bag, it'll be the Z6III but I was wondering. Should I take a CF Express intead of XQD? This body will be used mainly for photo (the others for video). Thx!

First I'd say, if your XQDs work fine and you have enough for your cameras, no need to go CFexpress. XQD may be a bit less future proof, though card readers for it are still easy to find at this right point.

Though, if you need an additional card on a recent camera like Z6III, Z8 or Z9, I'd go for a faster CFExpress : prices of XQD were lower at a point but now they are the same or even higher and I personaly didn't see any technical advantages for them, so, I think reasons to buy new XQDs are fewer by now for newer cameras.

I agree with PRG - CFExpress from now on.

Hi! Since the Z6III supports both XQD and CFexpress Type B, going with CFexpress is a smart move—especially for future-proofing. CFexpress offers faster read/write speeds, which helps with burst shooting, buffer clearing, and offloading files quickly. Even if you're mainly using it for photos, the extra speed and broader compatibility make it a better long-term investment. Plus, if you ever need to switch this body to video work, you’ll already be set.
