Hi,
In the lens reviews, the lens sharpness for the Nikon 600mm f6.3 seems better at f6.3 from the center to the edge than that of the 800mm f6.3 at f6.3 (3303 vs. 2646 at the center).
However, when I look at the MTFs provided by Nikon on their official website, 800mm has an almost flat-top MTF curve. Especially for the M30 and S30 lines, the resolution is slightly better than 600mm at f6.3.
How can we explain this discrepancy?
