Looking for recommendations on what to do with lenses.
I gave away an older Nikon DSLR, and sold a Nikon D800 with several lenses. I used that money to put towards my new mirrorless setup:
- Nikon ZF
- Nikkor Z 40MM f/2 SE
- Nikkor Z 24-120 F/4
- Nikkor Z 17-28 f/2.8
I have 3 lenses that cover a lot of the same area. I’m wondering how you’d rank these, and if there is 1-2 that I should keep. What I don’t keep, I’ll pass on to some family members that are just getting into photography.
- Nikon AF Nikkor 24-120mm 1:3.5-5.6D
- Nikon AF Nikkor 28-85mm 1:3.5-4.5
- Nikon AF Nikkor 35-105mm 1:3.5-4.5
Hi,
You are a true descendant of Gaius Maecenas !
Leaving the joke, I gave a good photo-bag (Think Tank Retrospective ) to a beginner.
- Nikon AF Nikkor 24-120mm 1:3.5-5.6D
- Nikon AF Nikkor 28-85mm 1:3.5-4.5
- Nikon AF Nikkor 35-105mm 1:3.5-4.5
These are older lenses that will not autofocus on any of the current Z cameras. The Nikkor Z 24-120 F/4 covers the entire range and is a much better lens.
My suggestion is to give those 3 lenses away.
