Big Fuji Announcements: X-H2 Camera, 2 Lenses, & Grip
Fujifilm just announced perhaps its most anticipated camera of the year, the 40-megapixel X-H2. With 20 FPS stills, 8K video, and subject-detection autofocus, the Fuji X-H2 aims to be a serious APS-C alternative to cameras like the Nikon Z9 and Sony A1 — but for $2000 instead of $5500+. Since Libor is traveling in South America, I'm filling in for him on this week’s Photography News. In fact, I just returned from a trip myself: I was in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park, finishing our field tests of the Nikon Z9! One feature of the camera that...
Star Trails on Ultra-Large Format Film
In January, I went on a road trip to Zion National Park in Utah. Only recently did I realize that I hadn’t destroyed (yes, destroyed) the best photo I took there, of star trails at night. How did that happen? It’s entirely my fault, but at least the story, and the results, are encouraging.
Should You Switch from DSLR to Mirrorless?
The viral reports from Nikkei – the ones that say Nikon is completely switching focus from DSLRs to mirrorless – are hardly news to anyone who’s followed the camera world for the last few years. Canon is in exactly the same boat. With few exceptions, camera companies have moved on from DSLR to mirrorless. Should you?
