Nikon Lens Instant Rebates Extended

I have received a number of emails from our readers that were not able to purchase Nikon lenses on time, before the rebate program ended. Thankfully, looks like the rebate program deadline was too short, so Nikon decided to extend it further until March 30, 2013. Since March 31 is Nikon’s financial year end, the goal is obviously to continue to push lens sales as much as possible. I seriously doubt that this specific lens rebate program will be available later this year. Unless Nikon is in serious financial trouble, rebate programs will probably only include DSLR + lens discounts like we have seen in the past.

Nikon Lens Rebate Program

Once again, if you are wondering about which lenses I personally recommend, see my previous article on the rebate program.

On top of the existing lens rebate program, Nikon is also offering DSLR Bundled savings – up to $550 Off if you purchase a DSLR with a lens and a speedlight. Most Nikon DSLRs qualify, even entry-level DSLRs like Nikon D3100/D3200.

Here are the links to the rebate pages at B&H:

  1. Nikon Lens Instant Rebate – Up to $350 Off
  2. Nikon DSLR Bundle Savings – Up to $550 Off

By the way, some of the lenses from the rebate program were so popular that B&H no longer carries them in stock. Even if it says “Back-ordered”, you can still place your order and the lens will ship as soon as B&H receives it. So far, I am being told that the back-ordered items are arriving within 2-3 weeks.

Lastly, we have exciting news coming up tomorrow – we will be giving away a brand new Nikon D7100, so stay tuned!

NR actually blurbed last week that the lens-rebates will be extended to 3/30.

At any rate, hope you’re right about 2-3 wks in back-order time. Hopefully sooner. Just frustrating that the nice lens to get went back-ordered quick.

    • I knew about the lens rebates getting extended as well, but after receiving a number of emails, decided to do a post on it to keep our readers informed.

As for back-orders, some of these lenses are very popular, so it is expected that they go out of stock when there is a rebate program going on :) Do not worry, your lens will arrive pretty soon! Like I said, B&H told me that most orders are getting fulfilled quickly, within several weeks.

How do you apply for the give away?

Why is the 16-35mm lens not included in the rebate?

    • It is a hot lens that already sells very well, that’s probably why :)

So is this rebate program available only in USA or across the Globe?
I see no mention of it here in India….
