I will be posting additional information on the Nikon D600 that was announced earlier today in this post. There is a lot of information, with some sample videos coming from everywhere, so I recommend coming back to this page to get more updates.

The Nikon D600 Brochure is available on NikonUSA. If the site gets too slow and you cannot download it, you can also get it right here on our site.
Full information on the Nikon D600 is provided at Nikon Imaging and you can find the official page on Nikon.com.
Along with the D600, Nikon also announced the UT-1 transmitter that is used for both wired and wireless transmission of images. The official page that describes the unit is also at Nikon.com.
Here is the official video for the Nikon D600 from Youtube:
Nikon Australia also posted the following time lapse from the D600:

Sample images from the Nikon D600 are provided at Nikon USA as well, but the page is extremely slow/down at the moment.

Thanks Nasim for keeping us updated on latest stuff as usual! :-)

You are most welcome Prajakt!
Wow, what a great day. Somehow I felt more excitement around this announcement and the two full frame cameras from Sony than the iPhone 5 launch event. This is coming from someone who can be called an Apple fan boy :-)
Seems that D600 has not Phase Detection Sensor on the sensor. So no fast autofocus during video recording…
Well, I’m buoyed by the size, it sounds more D800 than D7000. I have big hands and the D7000 feels like a toy. Dual SD is nice, as is 5.5 fps. Flash sync at 1/200 bothers me, as does max shutter at 1/4000. The big big no no for me is the price and I can only assume its that high (too near street on D800) because they are gonna fill it with another prosumer dx, either a D7100 or D400. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a dx sensor on D600 body coming thru, with 24mb sensor, using the same mb-d14 grip.
I may buy if street comes down to £1700 or good used examples come through early next year around the £1400 mark. Or alternatively, this should be the camera that gets the rest of the D700 upgraders to part and we’ll see a sub £1k used market fo these.
I was wondering if anyone knows what information is displayed in the viewfinder? I have tried to find a manual on nikons web site with no luck. Since this camera is similar to the D7000 I hope that Nikon has added additional information in the viewfinder such as displaying the metering mode and white balance selection in the viewfinder. If there is one thing that really bothers me about the D7000 is having to to take my eye away from the view finder when I change the metering mode or white balance. This is the last piece of info I need before I will purchase. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi! After having gone though a number of reviews online, I’m pretty much convinced that I should pick up the D600. But, I only have one problem, that is the autofocus system. It shares the same 39 points as the D7000, but it is spread over a very small area in the D600, how adversely will it affect the autofocus accuracy and speed??? Note : I don’t have a problem with the number of points, but their positioning is the issue.
Thanx, and I love your reviews! Have previously made numerous purchases based on them!
Hi, would you be able to let me know if the D600 can take stills while videoing?
Thanks
Hi Nasim,
I refer your website daily and this is my first post, and am very impressed with all the articles in the website. Am still a amatuer in photography and recently bought a Nikon D3100 2 months back and am very much interested in moving ahead in photography , I have read almost all your articles in the website and they are of immense help when i use my DSLR .
Am from India and would like to know when the camera is set to release in India , even though am not going to move to a FX immediately, I would like to have the details so that when i have my finances to move forward , I should be able to grab this one.
Thanks in advance
