You can now pre-order the Sensor Gel Stick

Due to popular request (and the fact that we ran out of the stock in less than 3 hours last night), we have now enabled pre-orders for the Sensor Gel Stick! I have received a number of emails and comments from our readers that really want to buy when it becomes available, instead of patiently waiting for the next email update. We are doing our best to get as many units as possible now, so hopefully we should receive more stock next week.

Sensor Gel Stick

To access the product page where you can pre-order the sensor gel stick from, click here. You can also access the page through the “Shop” link on the top of the page. Once you place your order, you will be able to view its status and receive notifications when the product ships.

Please note that your credit card will NOT be charged now when you pre-order. You will have to come back and complete your order as soon as we have stock. All pre-orders will be served on a first come first serve basis.

    Hi everyone,

I’d like to share my experience with this accessory after about one year of use. I’ve been using it on the D7000 and the D600 sensors, so It’s been used really often ;-)

After 8 months of use the gel block detached from the stick. There is only a small ledge around the bottom part of the stick that holds the gel block so when used often, it can detach over time. I guess it’s inevitable. I used a cyanoacrylate adhesive to attach the block back and now it holds tight. I also realised that after one year of use the gel block isn’t as sticky as it was when new. Again I guess it’s to be expected. It would be unrealistic to think that it will work as new forever.

My conclusion is that this is really one of the best sensor cleaning accessory. It works wonderfully and makes the sensor cleaning process very fast. I don’t know about any other sensor cleaning accessory that is so easy to use yet still so effective. If the manufacturer improves the attachement of the gel block, it will be almost perfect.

    Good light!

Can these sticks also be used to clean your contact lenses while wearing them?

Or does that bring new meaning to the common saying: “It’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.”
